Psychonauts / PC (87 at Metacritic) is $9.99 at GoG.

This title is possibly the most likely game to wind up on the “great overlooked games” list, right next to Beyond Good and Evil. It’s a smart platform game with an original setting, an interesting premise, and a wicked sense of humor. (The trailer starts with the words, “At a unique summer camp for the paranormally gifted…”) It was designed by Tim Schafer, who recently released Brutal Legend.

Here’s the description from Wikipedia:

Psychonauts is based on the exploits of Raz, a young boy gifted with psychic abilities who runs away from the circus to try to sneak into a summer camp for those with similar powers in order to become a “Psychonaut”. He finds that there is a sinister plot occurring at the camp that only he can stop from happening. The game is centered on the widely strange and imaginative minds of various characters that Raz enters as a Psychonaut-in-training in order to help them overcome their fears or memories of their past, so as to gain their help and progress in the game. Raz gains use of several psychic abilities during the game that are used for both attacking foes and solving puzzles.

And the play is great. In their 9.2 review, Game Chronicles said:

Psychonauts delivers a unique gaming experience you will probably never have an opportunity to play again. The production values are top notch in every department. If you’re the kind of gamer who craves the weird and unusual, look no further; this is your game.

It’s possible that you’ve spent a better $10 on games, but I doubt it.
