House of Dead: Overkill / Wii – $19.49
House of the Dead: Overkill (80 at GameRankings) is a first-person zombie shooter on rails with a grindhouse vibe. If that hasn’t sold you, maybe this will: it holds the Guiness World Record title for ‘most swearing in a video game’ with 189 occurrences of the f-bomb alone.

In their 90% review, the Official Nintendo Magazine / UK said:
What makes House Of The Dead: Overkill stand out from the crowd (other than its outrageousness of course) is its style. The previous games in the series tried their best to be scary and serious but ultimately ended up so cheesy and badly-scripted that they became hugely entertaining as a result, in a sort of ’so bad it’s good’ way. In a touch of genius though, this game decides to go in the completely opposite direction. Realising that games in which you shoot zombies with a plastic gun can never really come across as serious, Overkill decides to instead place its tongue firmly in its cheek and be as cheesy, hammy and tasteless as possible, basing itself on the low-budget grindhouse drive-in movies of the 1970s.
Note! … Almost every review I read said, “Keep this away from the children” or some variation thereof. You’ve been warned.
Still – House of Dead: Overkill seems like an excellent way to pass the time between trick-or-treaters…
